We are a caring family practice with a competent, dedicated staff of veterinarians, animal technicians, and office personnel. We offer complete medical, surgical, diagnostic and dental services, emergency care, and boarding. Our state-of-the-art facility includes operating rooms, an intensive care unit, diagnostic in-house laboratories, computerized ECG, ultrasound, echocardiography, a radiology center, pharmacy, large indoor and outdoor runs and cages, networked computerized records system, conference room, and administrative offices.

Elvis Presley's dog, Getlow, was flown from Memphis to Boston and transported to West Boylston, to be treated by the hospital. He lived three months in recovery on the farm and returned to Memphis almost 30 years ago.

The AAHA accredited practice citation awarded to the Robert J. Tashjian, V.M.D. Animal Medical Center in January 2005 states:

"This practice has successfully achieved accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. They hold a place of honor within the Association and the profession. Only 14% of the veterinary practices throughout the United States and Canada have made the commitment to voluntarily participate in an on-site evaluation based on the highest standards in veterinary medicine. This practice was evaluated on over 800 standards, proving a strong desire to provide high-quality medicine and top-notch client service."


Gerontology Center

Computerized ECG helps diagnose patients

The animal hospital has affiliations with non-profit initiatives through the American Veterinary Medical Frontiers, Inc. (AVMF) and its two divisions: the Malden Brook Farm Heritage Center and the Malden Brook Farm Animal Medical Gerontology Center. The Gerontology program will combine a long-term care facility for older and chronically ill animals with individualized attention and treatments. This program has already begun at the animal hospital with great success using specific of herbal supplements. Accreditation

We have been operating under strict standards of care and treatment for decades and recently became re-accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This accreditation is an achievement attained by the finest animal hospitals in the country. Presently, only 14% of all small animal veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and Canada hold this distinction.
