About Us

We are a caring family practice with a competent, dedicated staff of veterinarians, animal technicians, and office personnel. We offer complete medical, surgical, diagnostic and dental services, emergency care, and boarding. Our state-of-the-art facility includes operating rooms, an intensive care unit, diagnostic in-house laboratories, computerized ECG, ultrasound, a radiology center, pharmacy, large indoor and outdoor runs and cages, networked computerized records system, conference room, and administrative offices.

Elvis Presley's dog, Getlow, was flown from Memphis to Boston and transported to West Boylston, to be treated by the hospital. He lived three months in recovery on the farm and returned to Memphis over 30 years ago.

Accreditation

We have been operating under strict standards of care and treatment for decades and recently became re-accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

The AAHA accredited practice citation awarded to the Robert J. Tashjian, V.M.D. Animal Medical Center in June 2009 states:

"On behalf of the American Animal Hospital Association, I'd like to congratulate you and your team for successfully achieving re-accreditation. You remain among the top 15% of small animal hospitals in North America - a mark of distinction that clearly sets you apart from other veterinarians in your community. We recognize the role each member of your team played in this outstanding accomplishment and share your excitement and pride in your re-accreditation."

In December 2009, AAHA awarded the Robert J. Tashjian V.M.D. Animal Medical Center with a Commitment to Excellence Award for being an AAHA accredited member for 25 years!

The animal hospital has affiliations with non-profit initiatives through the American Veterinary Medical Frontiers, Inc.
