The original outpatient area is a historic home. In 1984, a New England style addition was added to make it a modern 15,000 square foot facility. The outpatient and inpatient hospital is primary on the first floor. The second floor includes administrative offices, laboratory, business offices, and conference room. The extensive computer network that exist throughout both floors includes innovative veterinary software to assist in the practice.

The veterinary hospital is a true medical center with the clinical practice emphasis on dogs and cats, but also involved with new frontiers of veterinary medicine that includes all animal species and our precious environment and agriculture. There is a close working relationship with the American Veterinary Medical Frontiers, Inc. and its two divisions: the Malden Brook Farm Heritage Center and the Malden Brook Farm Animal Medical Gerontology Center.

All of our surgical procedures are done with the safest and most reliable equipment and technology. Prior to any surgical procedure, our veterinarians perform a complete physical of each pet to assess any possible health problems that may complicate surgery. A pre-anesthetic screening is recommended to further assess your pet’s health in the event a physical may not reveal certain health conditions. After surgeries, we monitor and administer pain-alleviating medications to assist your pet to a speedy recovery.

Routine surgeries are scheduled in advance. We can usually make an appointment with just a few days notice. Lengthy stays occasionally occur and in the event an extended stay is required, we will provide your pet with the utmost care and comfortable accommodations. Progress reports will be given at any time. We welcome your call. Upon discharge, we will provide you with all of the necessary information to continue home care and will arrange a post-operative check-up appointment.

Having your pet vaccinated against contagious diseases may be one of the most important things you can do. We continually monitor infectious diseases in our area and make recommendations to our clients based on that information. We are constantly working to help keep your pet healthy and offer information to guide you in your pet's health care decisions. We also work closely with our elderly patients. Our experience of having many patients begin with us as puppies and kittens that have developed into their senior years, has created a specialized interest within our practice.

We offer large indoor and outdoor runs to accommodate your pet while boarding. If you have special foods, medications, toys, or bedding, you are welcome to bring them along. Please attach any written specifications for medications or foods. Over the holidays, we recommend booking your boarding appointments in advance.

We also provide daily medication and treatments that are required for certain boarding animals.

In order to accommodate our clients, we offer late evening hours and weekend appointments. Emergency service is also available after hospital clinical hours.
